living through change (2007-11)

living here now

A collaborative project with poet Pam Sandiford commissioned by High Peak Community Arts to creatively explore people's relationship with the landscape in the semi-rural community of Chinley in the High Peak of Derbyshire.

A number of artist led interventions and activities were devised including the creation of 'camera chains' involving 25 local people.

A launch event recruited participants for a series of writing and photography workshops during which residents responded to their landscape and community in a number of different ways. In digital imaging workshops residents collected and combined imagery and text to construct 'personal landscapes'.

The resulting imagery was exhibited in a range of local venues and a book of written work was produced. The project contributed to a research report produced for Arts Council England by New Perspectives and also fed into the town council's Parish Plan.
