Bonfire
Members of the Nevill Juvenile Bonfire Society, Lewes, East Sussex, 27th October 1990.
Each year on November the 5th six bonfire societies parade through the town of Lewes in East Sussex. The weekend before the members of the Nevill Juvenile Bonfire Society, dressed in their 'pioneer' costumes, parade around the streets of the Nevill Estate on the edge of the town.
The event provides a safe space away from the anarchy and drama of the main parades where youngsters can learn bonfire skills and help preserve the town's tradition of bonfire parades and costume.
